Kevin Pietersen is one of the world’s greatest cricket players. Originating from South Africa, was elected as captain of the Melbourne Stars Big Bash League.
He played a number of high profile matches over summer 2016/17 using his celebrity sportsman status to highlight charities close to his heart.
Rhino Conservation is his home country of South Africa was his main point of focus. I was asked to design a bat for his on field debuts. This was the first time a cricketer baulked at the International Cricket Commitees restrictions and used their bat to support charity.
Over $500k was donated to his charity over summer through the press coverage of this design.
